Weekend wrap-up
I have been feeling kind of crappy the last couple of days. I left work “early” on Thursday because of a headache. It is Sunday and I still have hat nagging headache. This week looks to be a very stressful week at the marketplace. Personnel issues, transitions, and security scans might be enough to make me want to jump off the roof. I am in the process to transferring all Sr. technical stuff to my 2 System Admins and this way I can strictly focus on my management duties. Juggling multiple hats there are many things that are not getting done well. Now responsibilities can be passed out and everything will rise to a higher quality and better for the customer.
My private devotions have been really profitable this weekend. I am getting ready to preach on the 31st and have been spending lots of time on on Genesis 3-4 and Romans 5,6,7. I have needed this kind of study for some time. It has been refreshing and energizing. I am so thankful for the call to ministry because I LOVE to study the scripture. I am constantly blown away how the Holy Spirit becomes the teacher and illuminates passages and walks me through it. Sitting in Panara tonight reading John MacArthur and Peter Ruckman’s commentary on Romans was simply mind blowing considering the nature of sin and the nature of grace. I am not sure we really have an understanding of the vile, wicked, ugliness of sin and what grace has really done for those that are redeemed. It is good to be reminded.
I am thinking I am going to tackle reading Baxter’s “The Reformed Pastor” which was writen on 1656. I have heard it will be hard hitting like an Octavious Winslow book. A good soul cleansing would be good!!!

We combined Journey Group forces tonight to stuff 90 backpacks, provided by Digium, with school supplies. Then we had some prayer time… I love our church and the heart to see the kingdom of God come to Earth!!!

Vacation Sunday
At the condo in Panama City we have my family (4) Wendy’s sisters family (4) and Wendy’s mom and dad (2)… 10 total in a 2 bedrooms… 800 sq. ft. I was really restless last night so I started journaling, however, I found deep, profound, meaningful thought evading. I think I wrote the same idea about 4 times in different ways. There is still some “hidden” frustration and restlessness that peaked its head up last night. After an hour wait at Sharky’s we were seated next to a table full of loud drunks. I did not mind it so much, however, kids were around and the language was not “G” rated. My brother-n-law turned around and looked at them as if to say, “pipe down”. They did not get the hint. He eventually got our waiter to ask them to hold it down. This only made things worse…but luckily they were finished eating and left. I thought there might be a fight break out… the tension was that thick… Good Grief!!! How are unregenerate people supposed to act? We are strangers and pilgrims… on a mission field. I don’t know… just roll with it. We cannot expect them to adopt our morals and mindset just because we walk into the room. I don’t know… perhaps I have too much tolerance… I view it as grace.
So sometime tomorrow I guess I will head back to Panera to do some work. I have a monthly report to finish and submit so I do not get on the “bad list” at work. It should not take long. I am also considering staying an extra day just to off set working while I am supose to be relaxing. This is the pitfalls of management in the corporate world. arg!!!
