I just killed YouTube… I never really liked it anyway. Even though YouTube has more viewship, there are plenty of other sites that are doing a better job with video. Vimeo, Blip.tv, Viddler to name a few. Plus I deleted my account in protest of Viacom who just gained access to all of YouTube subscription information… read here…

I am on a killing spree. That’s right. I have been taking inventory of things in my life that are time and money wasters. There are some things, for me and my life, have to go. I have come to the point in my life where I realize if I am going to be what the Father has called me to be I must be laser focused. While Facebook and Twitter and other things are fun have some positive aspects, for me they become a huge distraction and recently have caused me to fall into the sin of ENVY.

Envy: “painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage” - Merriam-Webster Online

“a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success, possessions, etc.” - dictionary.com

So for now, I have to put these things aside and focus on things that will help me be a stronger Christ Follower, Husband, Dad, Boss, Pastor, Elder, Friend… I have also added a couple of new goals in my life like reading more and learning to be a more effective writer.

Tolstoy’s definition of wealth was “the number of things one can do without”. Not only will that breed wealth but I also think doing without somethings will help us gain spiritual clarity and put our focus on Jesus and less focus on the creation.

I would certainly rather be doing other things… However, I am playing the cards I am delt… for now. I am taking the next 5 days off to attempt to regain my sanity and spend much need mini sabatical with Jesus and my family. I am hoping to do lots of reading and sleeping.

I have several “theologcal” blogs I am working on. Perhaps I will get to work on them while I am away.

I lost track of the day… Sunday’s are extremely busy so I may sabbath on Sunday from the photo unless time avails itself.

That’s right… Perhaps it is good for letting a “community” knowing a blog was posted or an upcoming even. Many use it as a modified chat client/message board… and for that it is sucky-sucky!!! Plus, features being disabled and “twitter is broken” messages is equivalent to the Microsoft blue screen of death.

I think it is “Neo-Voyeurism” which is kind of bazaar and freaky…

I am thinking about killing Facebook as well… plus… why does blip.tv have to show me advertisements with half dressed women and androgynous “boys”. It is hard enough to keep the mind pure of perverted sexual images, I don’t need it flashed in front of me on a legitimate tool I use on the internet. ARG!!!
