iPhone goodness!!!

I took the plunge yesterday and bought an iPhone (16GB, Black). It was the first time at the Apple Store. To be honest, I was not impressed with the store. Some how I was the first inline to get the limited quantity. The buying experience and customer service was AMAZING. My sales guy Jason went through great pains to make sure my experience was A+… He is a tattoo guy aswell… Wireless handhelds, point of sale, wireless credit card payment, under the desk, receipt printer… I was impressed. AT&T setup was painless… I hope it says that way.
So today I am hold up in my hotel room. 5 month old Holiday Inn in Pensacola…which is fly. No crap, I am getting ROCKSTAR treatment. From the time we checked in, to the room service, to the people I meet in the hall way who must think I am someone other than myself.

So today, I sent Wendy and the kids to the pool and I am hanging back for some down time. Blogging, writing, listening to Pandora, perhaps crack open a book and a beer later. The can feel the tension and stress leaving… which is a nice feeling.

Dazed and Confused!!!
There is therefore now no condemnation

I really wanted to blog this morning. It was good to get up and get my mind and heart in focus before heading off to the church house. Working a ton of hours disrupts my spiritual journey in some regards. Saturday in particular I felt much condemnation from the flesh and the enemy. It is weird when, out of nowhere, you start hearing things like…”Did God really say that?”, “Are you sure ministry is for you?” or “Reconsider the marketplace instead of ministry”. It was good to read Romans 8 this morning and get aligned under his headship and grace.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
There was a huge crowed today. We ran out of seats…which is a good problem to have. There were may in the core that were out on vacation. Seating would have been a real issue if everyone was present. Many new faces and families. It is encouraging to see people pitching in for the work of the kingdom. Looking forward to our next season as we contemplate space and location. I am also stoked that we are moving forward with the training and implementation of Elders and Deacons. This is a time for me to get laser focused.
One of the things I fell impressed to work on in my leadership skills and abilities. I picked up 2 books by John C. Maxwell on leadership. I use to dislike this guy, I guess because he was shoved down our throats in my first ministry experience. I am reading “Make Today Count” and “Developing the Leader within you“. I am sure these books will not only help with ministry but also for the remainder of my time in the marketplace. The key, as Maxwell states in the introduction, is decisions and discipline. These are two areas that I need to bring into alignment with the gospel. Everything needs to filtered through death, burial, and resurrection. I am looking forward to blogging about what I am learning in these books.
Beard Challenge - Day 31

These last couple of weeks have been crazy busy. 60 hours one week, 80 this week, looks like 80 next week. I need a vacation. Beach here I come… yippee!!!! The beard is growing nicely. 31 days and it is starting to thicken up a bit.
I reloaded Parallels on my MacBook Pro so I could give LOGOS another shot. After 2 days of configuring, loading, reloading XP. Then 3 days to get the load of LOGOS right + help from Adam at LOGOS tech support I was able to get things squared away nicely. At the NOOK the other night hanging with the fellas we discussed LOGOS… How it is a powerful tool, but the interface is cluncky and not very intuitive. It is a love/hate relationship. David and I talked about hooking up with one of Morris Proctor’s LOGOS classes. That might be a good thing to do so I can learn how to minipulate the interface better. Aleast it might make me feel better about my $1200 bible software investment. Hopefully, one of these days I will get to use it for its intended purpose… Seminary.
Sleepless in Huntsville…

It has been me and the dog for 3 days. Wendy and the kids went down to the lake on Thursday and Wendy headed to a woman’s retreat on Friday and Saturday. As you can tell from other blogs below, I was able to get lots of “work” done for my marketplace job, however, times like these are better spent reading, praying, and connecting with Jesus. Unfortunately it has not happen the way I would have liked. I laid down at a decent hour last night, however, sleep evaded me. This is becoming a regular occurrence… more frequent than I like to admit. It would be great to say, “the Lord is keeping me up”… for various reason. But no, it is most likely stress from the job, My ADD mind rolling 100MPH, thinking about Work, Leadership, Church, Ministry, Journey Group, Family, Health…
