The New Conspirators

I have been reading a book Charles let me borrow called “The New Conspirators” by Tom Sine.  I am going to need to buy him a replacement…  I am marking all in this one ;-)

Tom identifies 4 categories of “New Conspirators” in the opening chapter…

1.  Emerging

2.  Missional

3.  Mosaic

4.  Monastic

He goes on to define these and shows thee value in the kingdom of God, though they all have different methodologies.  One thing that seems to tie these together is their focus on incarnational living.

the world doesn’t need more words, not even more “right” words.  The world needs more words made flesh.  The world needs more people to live the good news incarnationally, in a way that can be seen, heard, and handled

The idea that Jesus has called us to a far different life than what Western Christianity models for us is hard hitting.

God’s economy is diametricly opposed to to that in the world.  Rather than accumulating stuf for oneself, followers of Jesus abandon everything, trusting God alone for providence
