Google + Gospel = Sojourn?

I read this article tonight in FastCompany.com.  This story about Google is amazing, however, the bios are better and more inspiring.  This has really got my mind turning about creating ethos and culture.

Question…  How do we create the same kind of vibe and culture at Sojourn with the Gospel being center, Jesus exalted, Church planting is a passion, and the Bible as authority?

Google is user friendly and approachable…  it works… Most people are not concerned about the inner workings or technology behind www.google.com or www.igoogle.com.  How do we at Sojourn take this kind of posture?  At what point does this consume our lives to the point Sojourn/Jesus/Gospel/Bible/Family is all we want to do?  At want point do we ‘buy in’ and take ownership of the vision?

I am PUMPED about this…  This has got me stirred up!!!

Good, centering statements.

Hmmm, i’m a little bit cynical about everyone wanting to be the next Google or whatever. I mean, yes, it would be great to be the next Google of anything, I suppose. It sounds like a really great company. But they’re so selective and really only hiring the top 0.1% or whatever of available talent, so they can afford to let people sort of gravitate to their own projects and still be successful.

I’m more curious — but this is probably what you meant, before I defaced your post with this rant — how you apply those same values of simplicity and all so that even the other 99.9% of us can feel like we’re doing something worthwhile.

Actually I’m sure that’s what you meant, just venting my own feelings about looking for Utopia I guess. Anyway, it’s a comment, if not a very helpful one. :)
