Currently Playing : The Postal Service - “Give Up”
So I was at Starbucks tonight sucking down a Venti, Soy, Caramel Macchiato and hanging out with my kids. I find the need to get out and get to coffee shops often. It sparks a better creative vibe than staying at home. Plus I get pumped on caffeine and sugar… YES!!! Home is boring and my coffee sucks too… I let the pros handle it. I digress… I was journaling about spiritual disciplines and my personal struggles with being more discipline. I was thinking about the concept of “being conformed into the image of Christ”.
The is coupled with an ongoing discussion whether humanity lost the image of God at the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden… Since Adam/Eve birthed sons in “there image and likeness” Gen.5… which is fallen and sinful. Once a person becomes “Born Again”, the likeness is restored (Body, Soul, and Spirit) and conforming ourselves to the image is a life long process… again I digress…
I was reading in the gospel of Mark and I ran across this…
So writing about how I needed to more disciplined in my life and then running across that verse was like confirmation I was on the right track. I don’t like the idea of rising up before daylight but it seems to be common practice for Jesus. There must be something significant about getting up early, while the rest of the work is asleep and talking to God.

Heh, Starbucks isn’t really a coffee shop.
