Wendy and the kinds took off to the beach yesterday. With all the unfortunate events at work there is no way I would been able to go. So I am doing the bachelor thing for a week. Me and the dog. There will be lots of time for quite contemplation, reading, and writing.
Rod came over yesterday and we practices our set that we are playing tonight at Southwood’s Lodge. I am and really looking forward to playing. There is something therapeutic about playing. Takes the stress away. That is why I am so thankful for my IPOD and the ability to listen to music at work. It takes the edge off. I am reminded of the story of King Saul in 1 Samuel 16.
1Sa 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
It is going to be fun to try and fill the Lodge up with low-end. The place is like a small cathedral with vaulted ceilings and stone floor. It will be alive with sound.
Garrett and I went for out Sunday morning hike. We did the 3.5 mile southern plateau loop. The weather was/is perfect. I have been enjoying out Sunday morning hikes. Good conversation about hiking, camping,
This week is my week to teach/facilitate Journey Group. We will be in John 3. Taking the time to really study the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus has been exciting. There are some theology beginning to take shape and it is neat to see it forming. Chapter 3 Jesus takes things further. In the JG we have been talking about the miracles were away for Jesus to prove his deity and manifest his glory. Nicademus acknowledges that the Jesus was from God because of the miracles/signs. Jesus taking things further… It is good that Nicodemus recognized the miracles are from divine source but miracles will not save him. He must be ‘born again’. There is a physical birth (flesh/water) and there is a Spiritual birth (Holy Spirit). To see the spiritual Kingdom requires a spiritual birth. There is so much we could discuss. Good stuff.
I am suppose to hear something about a new job on Monday. There is a meeting to discuss opening a spot for me on another contract. I really hope it works out. It would be a tremendous blessing and benefit. IT would certainly take 90% of the stress off me.
